Nestling in 375 acres of beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo has over 100 of the UK's best white knuckle rides, children's rides and top entertainment shows among its attractions. An extensive zoo and bird garden containing over 1,000 animals including rare and endangered species, all help to make the park one of the UK's most exciting days out. In fact, with so much to pack into one day, you may prefer to extend your visit with a stay at the Flamingo Land Holiday Village, for a family holiday where the kids will never be bored.

Billed as the ultimate fright simulator, budding pilots will love the Top Gun, a fast-flying aerial ride where passengers control their own fighter plane. Other knuckle-gripping attractions include The Bullet, the only ride of its kind in the world, which propels riders up and down a 90ft drop and through a 360° loop, before doing it all again in reverse. The double looping Corkscrew roller coaster which will drive you crazy, as will the acrobatic Flying Trapeze roller coaster, while the Terroriser is the only UK white knuckle ride to combine both the plunging sensation of a roller coaster with the spinning of a waltzer.

Racing fans can pit their wits on the new Go-Karting circuit, whilst younger members of the family can enjoy specially themed areas including Captain Fortune's Square, Fort Flamingo Land and all the fun of Circus World with its own daily Big Top Circus. There's also an excellent range of traditional rides, slides and carousels, as well as a new Swan Lake boating attraction and nine international shows daily. These include a sealion and parrot show.

Family favourites like big cats, monkeys, zebras and polar bears are among the many animals to be seen whilst strolling through Flamingo Land's extensive zoo and wildlife park which contains more than 180 different species of animal and includes a bird walk, reptile house and children's farm.

And when you need a break, call in at the new Food Court or stop off at any one of the Park's numerous food outlets. Picnics can also be enjoyed at the many seating areas located in and around the theme and wildlife park.

Flamingo Land also has an extensive Holiday Village for those wishing to stay over and enjoy one of the best family holidays around with luxury holiday homes which sleep up to six people, fully equipped with colour TV and microwave. Tents and touring caravans can take advantage of the 90-acre site.

All visitors to the Holiday Village can take advantage of facilities that include a new £1 million tropical Waterworld, leisure and spa development complete with adult's heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, sauna and children's fun pool with slide and water playground. You can relax in the Ocean Lounge Bar or put your feet up and enjoy the bright, airy atmosphere of the sun terrace. Or, for an even faster tan, there's always a sunbed.

On the other hand, if it's real peace and quiet you want, have a round of golf on the new nine-hole course or try your hand at course fishing in our nine-acre, well stocked lake. With its own ten pin bowling alley, six clubs and bars with nightly entertainment from cabaret to karaoke, the fun continues into the evening. If you don't fancy cooking there's plenty of restaurants and take-away outlets offering a wide variety of food, from fish and chips to Indian or a traditional carvery.

Flamingo Land is also the ideal base for exploring the surrounding area, being close to the pretty seaside towns of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey on the North Yorkshire coastline, the North Yorkshire moors - home to television's popular Heartbeat programme and the City of York.

One admission price of £9.50 per person (Senior Citizens half price and under fours free) gives unlimited access to all attractions. A family ticket costs £32.00 (admits four and there are special reductions for groups. The park is open daily from 10am from 23 March 1997 until 28 September 1997, then weekends only in October. Closing times vary according to season.

For people staying in a holiday home at the Flamingo Land Holiday Village, there's free and unlimited access to all the attractions at the theme park and zoo, tourers and tents pay a one-off entrance price. A small charge is made for bowling, fishing and golf.
