Prince Edward Island Convention Bureau

As a convention or meeting locale, Prince Edward Island reflects an irresistible blend of charm and sophistication, with excellent meeting facilities, fine accommodation and an environment that is unique in North America.

Where else can you attend meetings in first-class convention facilities 20 minutes from rolling pastoral countryside, dotted with neat farms and hemmed by splendid sandy beaches.

Islanders are experienced in handling conventions. Our first-class facilities with their friendly staff can provide for any of your delegates' needs, whether it be for a small board meeting or a large national convention.

The capital city of Charlottetown is served by Air Nova (Air Canada's regional connector) and Air Atlantic (Canadian Airlines), each with up to six flights per day out of Halifax. Direct flights are also available for Toronto and there are excellent connecting flights from other major centres. Driving to Prince Edward Island has taken a whole new look with the completion of the Confederation Bridge, one of the world's longest multi-span bridges. The Prince Edward Hotel (a Canadian Pacific property), located on Charlottetown's waterfront, can accommodate theatre-style sessions with as many as 1,650 people and has excellent facilities for large-scale conventions as well as smaller conferences and meetings. The Trade Centre has 70,000 ft2 of exhibit space and seating for 3,175 people. There are first class hotels in the city, sights, restaurants and activities to entice delegates.

Scattered around the province are charming old inns, some dating back to the 1800s and modern resorts equipped for leisure as well as business. The Prince Edward Convention Bureau will provide conference or event planners with prompt, effective and courteous assistance at any stage of the planning process to help ensure a positive island experience. The bureau has an excellent Planner's Guide available on hard copy, and also on the Internet (through Prince Edward Island's home page - http://www.gov.pe.ca). The bureau can provide videos and promotional literature, suggest entertainment and companion programme ideas, and act as a resource centre for all convention services.

Prince Edward Island offers the warmth and hospitality which annually makes us the first choice of thousands of convention delegates. When your convention is over for the day, our hotels and resorts offer you the best in relaxation facilities, including 12 golf courses. One of our newer courses, The Links at Crowbush Cove, has already gained a long list of accolades, ranging from best new course titles from both Golf Digest and Score magazine, to making numerous lists of the country's and world's top courses. The new confederation trail offers excellent hiking and cycling, and a very full schedule of festivals, theatre and music which all adds to the excitement.
