Designed to serve the world's business, professional and government leaders, the Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Center is the largest and best equipped facility in Indonesia. It offers versatility, modern efficiency, and tradtional Indonesian hospitality. It was primarily built for the 10th Non-Aligned Movement Summit which took place in September 1992 and was attended by more than 65 Heads of State and delegations from 109 countries. The center is located in the heart of Jakarta's business district, near the Jakarta Stock Exchange, and surrounded by more than 16,000 rooms in starred hotels. The most convenient is the 1100-room Jakarta Hilton International Hotel complex, which is connected to the centre by an underground tunnel with travellators.

An attractive looking low-rise complex, the center comprises of: 3921 sqm Assembly Hall (divisible into three rooms), a two-level Plenary Hall with a capacity of up to 5,000, the 2109sqm Cendrawasih room (divisible in to three smaller rooms), ten meeting rooms, lounges and a 2,000sqm media center, a 5,500sqm main lobby, two exhibition halls offering almost 10,000sqm of space between them, and a bonded warehouse for speedy customs clearance of temporary convention and exhibition goods. While, the internet can be accessed anywhere within the exhibition halls or function rooms.
