Serengeti Sopa - lobby
Looking out over the seemingly endless Serengeti plains, this hillside lodge is a tranquil oasis set in thousands of square kilometres of National Park. The Serengeti plains are host to a dramatic annual migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and numerous other species of animals indigenous to the area.
Completing a northern Tanzanian safari circuit, the lodge, built as a 'low profile' structure, nestles into a wooded hillside valley overlooking Tarangire Hill. Situated 114 km from Arusha Tarangire National Park, it is easily accessible and boasts magnificent herds of elephants and other species of wildlife. The baobab studded landscape also plays host to a vast variety of resident and migratory bird life.

Sopa means welcome in the Masai language. We have adopted this traditional greeting for our organisation because a warm welcome is the embodiment of each and every one of our destinations. As is its location. All our lodges are built in the finest of East Africa's game parks to suit your every need, be it comfort, an abundance of wildlife, or the sheer tranquility of your African surroundings.

The continent of Africa is vast and we emphasise this fact with our spacious architecture. Each Sopa lodge adds to your safari comfort by offering luxurious appointed bedrooms, a swimming pool, conference facilities, shopping boutiques, nightly wildlife films and CNN programmes, opulent bar and lounge areas, a wide variety of traditional and continental cuisine, and the close and personal attention of our Sopa hospitality.

The Sopa concept is also one of environmental care and conservation. Of constant concern to us is the impact of our lodges on the flora and fauna in their surroundings. Africa's natural heritage is fragile and precious and we strive to set an example of wise ecological management with all our lodges, by learning to work with nature and not against it.
