Latvia's National Programme for Transport Development for the period 1995 - 2010 was endorsed by the Cabinet on the 9th of May 1995 and covered amongst other following actions:
Privatisation of existing facilities
Creation of Efficient Transport Corridors
Speeding up Border-Crossing Procedures
Establishing Free Economic Zones in Seaports
Substantial Investment in Transport and Distribution Infrastructure
